DALLAS, Texas – Dallas Christian College will cap the 2021 year with a three-day, 14 game tournament on December 29-31. The women's basketball team will tip-off with three games on the first two dates and a pair on New Year's Eve. The men's team is now playing on the 29th, but will also play just once now on the final date of the calendar year.

The Dallas Christian College women's basketball team is 10-3 overall this season and ranked fourth in the latest National Christian Collegiate Athletic Association (NCCAA) Power Rankings. The Crusaders dropped their last outing to Ozark Christian College at home. They will play a pair of opponents that have already gone up against this season with North American University and Texas A&M University-Texarkana. DCC will also play Paul Quinn College.
Keiarra Rivers leads the Crusaders with 12.7 points-per-game and is totaling 165.
Amber Covington is a smidge under averaging double figures with 9.9.
Mckayla Washington has totaled 110, while
Faith Salinas rounds out the unit eclipsing triple-digits in scoring with 101.
Covington is the lone player in triple figures for rebounding with a team-high 104. Washington has dished a team-high 35 assists, while Rivers is the leader in steals with 34.
DCC Women's Basketball Season Stats
The Dallas Christian College men's basketball team sits 1-2 this season with all three games coming from NCCAA Southwest Regional opponents. The Crusaders played their first home game all season and rolled to an impressive 94-67 victory. DCC has played 12 other games that were exhibitions on the road and have had its challenges with teams that are NCAA Division I, II, and NAIA. However, the past three outings have seen positive shooting stretches where they trailed Tarleton State University by six in the second half and outscored Northwestern State University in the second half by three. DCC even received an invite to play at SEC Texas A&M University a couple days prior to this home classic.
The Crusaders will close out with Texas College at 2 p.m. on Dec. 30 and then host Texas A&M-Texarkana in a rematch to start a double dip on the last day at 2 p.m. The tournament wraps up at 6 p.m. versus Paul Quinn College.
Nick Erves leads the team with 49 points and is top three in rebounds (13) and steals (6). He is tied for the team-lead in made trifectas with five.
Tyjuan Battles and
Jalen Perez also have drained a quintet of three balls. Perez has chipped in 31 points, while
Jairus Allen is a newcomer to the team that has 26 points and been an impact on both sides of the ball.
