SAN ANTONIO, TX-- The Dallas Christian College women's basketball team almost pulled off a victory in a down to the wire matchup in an exhibition game against Division II Saint Mary's University. The Lady Crusaders lost 62-60. This game did not count against the overall season record.
After a hot start, the Lady Crusaders led 16-14 heading into the second quarter. DCC continued the momentum in the second quarter, outscoring the Rattlers 20-11 in the second quarter. The Lady Crusaders led 36-25.
After three quarters of play the Lady Crusaders put together a phenomenal performance to be leading 54-39. STMU put together a stellar comeback in the fourth quarter overcoming a 15 point deficit to win 62-60. DCC played stellar all-game long and the Rattlers picked up a 62-60 win.Â
DCC shot 25-58 from the field (43%) and 4-9 (44%) from the three-point line, and 6-13 from the Free-throw line (46%). As a team the Lady Crusaders had 28 points in the paint, 6 fast break points, and 6 bench points.
Keiarra Rivers led the team with 17 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double. Yvonee Fuerte scored a season-high 15 points, and
Rakia Lee had 11 points on 5-14 from the field. The Lady Crusaders will face Southwestern University on November 30 at 5 p.m.
