Tyese Little is in her tenth season leading her alma mater as the Head Volleyball Coach. Little served as the NCCAA DII Southwest Region Volleyball Chair from 2015-2017. She was named NCCAA DII Southwest Region Coach of the Year in 2011 and 2015. Little earned the 2020 AVCA Diversity Award, as presented by the AVCA Diversity Development Team and AVCA Board of Directors Diversity Representative and McKendree University Head W/M Volleyball Coach Nickie Sanlin. The AVCA Diversity Awards Program is a platform for showcasing leaders that positively impact the sport of volleyball every day. She received her Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership at Lincoln Christian University in 2021. Coach Little also serves as the Resident Director, Senior Admissions Counselor, and Senior Women’s Administrator at Dallas Christian College. She has a heart for mentoring young women and a passion for volleyball.
In 2020, Little coached the Lady Crusaders to their first NCCAA DII Southwest Region Championship. The Lady Crusaders then continued to win their second NCCAA DII Southwest Region Championship in 2021. Her team has made 3 NCCAA DII National Tournament appearances (2015, 2020, 2021).
Her philosophy as a coach is “to be a coach that serves God first, and through the abundance of God’s love and wisdom, coach and mentor young women.”
Little attended Dallas Christian College where she graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor’s degree in Bible and Secondary Education. While she was a student at DCC, she was heavily involved in the athletic program playing volleyball, basketball, and soccer. She was volleyball captain from 2006-2008, basketball captain in 2009, soccer captain in 2008-2009, and received the Christian Character award in all 3 sports. Coach Little was a 3 time All-Region and All-Conference selection in volleyball and helped lead the team to its first Conference Championship. When she was not on the court or field, she was involved in other DCC organizations including: Resident Assistant, Urban Team, and Camp Team. She also received the Servant of the Year award in 2008. Coach Little accepted Jesus as her Savior in the summer of 2004, but it wasn’t until 2007 that He became LORD of her life. Since then, He has truly blessed her more than she could have asked for or imagined. Little coached volleyball and basketball at The Covenant School in Dallas for 3 years. She also coached for the Hurricanes Basketball league in 2010-11. She is married to Jon Little (also DCC alum) and they have 3 children.
