BROWNWOOD, TX-- The Dallas Christian College Softball team completed a season sweep of Howard Payne University on Saturday afternoon with a 13-0 victory in game 1 and a 9-6 victory in game 2.
Game 1: The Crusaders dominated from start to finish using a 7 run 1st inning to ignite its team to a 13-0 victory.
Kayla Looper went 3 for 4 at the plate with 3 RBI's.
Lia Rojas went 1 for 1 at the plate with 2 RBI's.
Kyleigh Lewis went 3 for 4 at the plate.
Kaylee Brent went 2 for 4 with 4 RBI's.
Laila Robins went 1 for 3 at the plate with 1 RBI.
Jasmine Hernandez pitched 5 innings allowing 2 hits, no runs, and 5 strikeouts.
Game 2: The Crusades used early offense and held off a late comeback attempt to propel itself to a 9-6 victory.Â
Kayla Looper went 3 for 5 at the plate.
Georgina Carrillo went 2 for 5 with 1 RBI.
Kyleigh Lewis went 2 for 4 at the plate.
Julissa Amparo went 3 for 3 at the plate with 2 RBI's.
Nizhoni Yellow picked up the win in the circle, pitching 2 innings allowing no runs.
Toni Meyer pitched 3 innings allowing 3 runs and had 1 strikeout.
Alexa Briones pitched 1 inning allowing 1 run.
Kaylee Brent pitched 1 inning allowing 1 hit and no runs.Â
