MANHATTAN,KS-- The Dallas Christian College women's volleyball team opened up the season in the Thunder Invitational against Central Christian College of Kansas & Manhattan Christian College. The Lady Crusaders lost the first match 3-0 (25-22, 25-14, 25-20,) and lost the second match 3-0 (25-15, 25-7, 25-14.)
Game 1: DCC fought hard in the first set, keeping the score even throughout the majority of the set until the Lady TIgers were able to hold off furious effort from the Lady Crusaders to secure set 1. Central Christian used its momentum and went on to win the following to sets for the 3-0 victory.
DCC tallied 26 points, 21 kills, 3 Aces, 2 blocks, 18 assists, and 51 digs.
Rachael Maxwell led the team with 6 kills,
Brooklyn Ramey-Halkyard had 5 kills, and
Paloma Garcia had 4 kills.
Jaycie Stanley led the team with 2 Aces and
Anaiyah Peavler had 1 Ace.
Jessalyn Gutierrez had 2 blocks,
Brooklyn Ramey-Halkyard had 1 block, and
Anaiyah Peavler had 1 block.
Zoelley Herrera had 9 assists,
Alyssa Carreras has 3 assists, and
Jaycie Stanley had 3 assists.
Alyssa Carreras had 11 digs,
Paloma Garcia had 11 digs, and
Lanie Wink had 9 digs.
Game 2: Manhattan Christian College was able to hold off the energetic play of DCC and secure a 3-0 victory.
DCC tallied 17 points, 15 kills, 2 blocks, 13 assists, and 37 digs.

Jessalyn Gutierrez had 5 kills, and
Zoelley Herrera had 1 kill.
