MELBOURNE, FLORIDA-- The Dallas Christian College Softball team bounced back in game 2 of the USSSA Space Coast Games with a 6-4 victory against Brewton Parker College on Monday afternoon at Pride Stadium.
DCC started fast in the top half of the 1st inning with a lead-off double by
Kyleigh Lewis.
Lia Rojas singled up the middle to put runners at the corners with no outs.
Kaylee Brent hit a ground ball to short that was bobbled and led to
Kyleigh Lewis scoring the first run of the game. Laila Robbins plated the second run with a ground-out to shortstop to score
Lia Rojas.Â
The Lady Barons answered back with a lead-off home-run to cut the deficit to 2-1.
Lia Rojas had an RBI single in the third inning to score
Kyleigh Lewis and extend the lead to 3-1. The Barons answered back with a run in the bottom half of the inning to cut the lead for DCC to 3-2.
DCC led the inning off with 2 walks, followed by a strikeout, and a ground-out by
Kyleigh Lewis to score

Lia Rojas continued her stellar day at the plate with an RBI single up the middle to extend the lead to 6-4.
Brewton-Parker College scored 2 runs on 4 hits and 2 runners left on base in the 5th inning to cut the Lady Crusaders lead to 5-4. DCC added an insurance run in the top of the 6th inning on a
Kaylee Brent single that scored
Kyleigh Lewis.
DCC held on in the last 2 innings of the game to secure a 6-4 victory.
Kelsey Cauthron was stellar on the bump for the Lady Crusaders. Cauthron pitched 7 innings, allowing 11 hits, 4 runs, 4 earned runs, 3 walks, and 2 strikeouts in 33 batters faced.
Lia Rojas went 3 for 3 at the plate with 2 RBI's.
Kyleigh Lewis went 3 for 4 at the plate with 3 runs scored, and 2 RBI's. The Lady Crusaders will be back in action tomorrow at 10 AM against Indiana University South Bend and University of Northwestern Ohio at 2:30 PM.
