AUSTIN, TX-- The Dallas Christian College Men's Basketball team (1-0) opened up the season on the road Tuesday night with a 69-57 victory against Huston Tillotson (1-2) at Branch Gymnasium.
The Crusaders shot 10-32 (31%) from the field in the first half and held Huston Tillotson to 8-29 (28%) from the field in the first half. Huston Tillotson was 9-32 (28%) from the field in the second half. DCC shot 10-29 (34%) from the field in the second half. For the game DCC shot 20-61 (33%) from the field, 5-21 (24%) from the three-point line, and shot 24-29 (83%) from the free-throw line.
DCC had 6 second chance points, 26 points in the paint, 7 fast-break points, 31 bench points, 20 points off Turnovers. The Crusaders had 52 rebounds, 11 assists, 16 turnovers, 2 blocks, and 11 steals. The Crusaders out-rebounded HTU 52-38.
Defensively, the Crusaders dominated the game holding HTU to 17-61 (27%) from the field. 
Carlas Canady had a team-high 18 points and 5 rebounds on 3-10 shooting from the field. 
Jason Ezeadiuguwu gave a lift off the bench with 14 points and 6 rebounds. 
Nick Lancit had 8 points and was 6-8 from the free-throw line.Ā 
Seth Mays had 6 points and 11 rebounds. 
Dion Grisnold brought physicality to the game with 10 rebounds and 5 assists. The Crusaders will hit the court on the road Thursday at 6 p.m. at Ellis Field-House.
