FARMERS BRANCH, TX-- The Dallas Christian College Men's Basketball team used a late run to overcome a 14 point deficit, defeating University North Texas Dallas 79-69 on Thursday night in its home opener. 
The Crusaders jumped out to a 36-33 lead heading into halftime. In the second half UNTD ceased control of the game, building a 14 point lead with 10 minutes remaining in the game. DCC outscored UNTD 24-10 in the last 10 minutes of the game to clinch a 2-0 start to its season.
In the first half DCC shot 12-30 from the field (40%) 3-11 (27%) from the three-point line, and 9-14 (64%) from the free-throw line. In the second half DCC shot 18-36 (50%) 1-9 from the three-point line, and 6-12 (50%) from the free-throw line.
For the game DCC shot 30-66 (46%) from the field, 4-20 (20%) from the three-point line, and 15-26 (58%) from the free-throw line. DCC had 40 rebounds (11 offensive, and 29 defensive), 9 assists, 13 turnovers, 3 blocks, 6 steals, and 79 points.
DCC had 16 second chance points, 50 points in the paint, 8 fast-break points, 26 bench points, nd 16 points off turnovers. 
Carlas Canady had a team-high 18 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists on 5-12 shooting from the field.
Nick Lancit was stellar tonight netting 17 points on an efficient 80% shooting from the field. For the second straight game to start the season 
Jason Ezeadiuguwu scored in double-digits off the bench with 10 points. 
Promise Elem had 10 points on 4-8 shooting from the field.
The Crusaders will be back in action on Thursday night at Nelson University looking for a 3-0 start to the season.
