PENSACOLA FLORIDA-- The Dallas Christian College Women's Basketball team (1-1) notched its first victory of the season in a low scoring, defensive battle against Toccoa Falls.
The Lady Crusaders held Toccoa Falls College to 8 points in the first quarter and 39 points for the game. DCC played smothering defense holding Toccoa Falls to 28 % shooting from the field and forcing 24 Turnovers.
The Lady Crusaders turned dominant defense into fluid offense with 19 points off turnovers. DCC shot 16-54 (29%) from the field, 2-21 (9.5%) from the three-point line, and 7-12 (58%) from the free-throw line.
DCC had 3 second chance points, 16 points in the paint, 11 fast break points, 19 points off turnovers and 14 bench points.
Myah Coleman led the team with her second straight double-double notching 16 points, and 11 rebounds.
The Lady Crusaders will look to win its second straight game tomorrow afternoon with its final game of the Pensacola Classic at 2 p.m. against Southeastern Baptist College.
