DALLAS, TX-- The Dallas Christian College Crusaders (5-10) defeated Randall University (6-6) 85-69 on Monday evening in its first home game since Christmas break. DCC was led by freshman DJ Smith who had a career high in points with 21.

To start the game, DCC and Randall trade baskets back and forth in a fast paced first 10 minutes of play. DCC was able to grasp control of the game towards the end of the first half as it extended the lead to 16 points. After 20 minutes of play the Crusaders carried a 43-27 lead into halftime. 

DCC controlled the second half of the game scoring 42 points and grasping an 85-69 victory. DJ Smith led the way with a career high 21 points on 5-7 shooting from the 3 point line and 8-12 shooting from the field in 16 minutes. Nico Matheus had 12 points and 4 rebounds on 5-10 shooting from the field. Ny'gel Boozer had 12 points and 5 rebounds on 5-10 shooting from the field. 

The Crusaders shot 31-68 (45%) from the field, 14-31 (45%) from the 3 point line, and 9-16 (56%) from the free-throw line. The Crusaders had 52 points off the bench and 25 points off turnovers. DCC will be back at home on Wednesday taking on College of Biblical Studies at 7 p.m.
