MBB: Crusaders complete comeback victory against crosstown rival, #7 nationally ranked Arlington Baptist University

DALLAS, TX-- The Dallas Christian College Men's Basketball team overcame an 18 point deficit in the second half to defeat Arlington Baptist University 89-86 in a thriller on Wednesday night. The Crusaders have now won 6 out of their last 7 games and are on a 4 game winning streak.

The Crusaders jumped out to a slow start in the first half of the game. The Patriots showed up with a lot of energy and carried that momentum of a strong start to a 13 point lead at halftime.

The Patriots built the lead to 18 points with 15 minutes left in the game. DCC slowly chipped away at the lead and found themselves within one point with 2 minutes remaining. Ny'gel Boozer and Nick Lancit both knocked down free-throws late in the game to seal the win and Yuot Gai had a huge offensive put back to lead the Crusaders to an 89-86 victory in a huge Southwest Region matchup. 

The Crusaders had three players in double-digits. Nick Lancit scored 22 points off the bench on 8-10 (80%) shooting from the field and 4-4 (100%) from the free-throw line. Yuot Gai had 17 points and 9 rebounds on 7-11 shooting from the field. Ny'gel Boozer led the charge with 25 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists. 

The Crusaders shot 34-59 (57%) from the field, 10-19 (52%) from the three-point line, and 11-16 (68%) from the free-throw line. DCC had 46 points in the paint, 14 second chance points, 12 points off turnovers, and 38 bench points. The Crusaders are tied for first place in the region and have beaten 2 top 10 teams in a row. DCC will be back on the road Saturday against Randall University at 3 p.m.
