DALLAS, TX-- The Dallas Christian College Baseball team finished up a four game series on Saturday afternoon against College of the Ozarks. The Crusaders took game 1 6-1 and lost game 2 by a score of 15-3 at Glenda and Denny Dixon Field.
Game 1: The first game of the day was highlighted by the stellar performance on the mound from
Derek Lewis. Lewis went 7 innings allowing 4 hits, 1 earned run, 6 walks, and struck out 6 batters in 29 batter faced.Lewis also threw a season-high 115 pitches. DCC got an offensive lift from
Brandon Andrews with a 2 RBI day and a sacrifice fly.
Stefon Reyes went 1 for 2 with 2 runs scored and 2 walks.
Derek Lewis bounced worked his way out of a jam in the sixth inning when the bases were loaded and only allowed 1 run.
Game 2: To close out the series the Crusaders went down 12-2 after three innings of play. DCC was not able to come back from a slow start and the Bobcats used its strong offensive start to hold onto a 15-3 victory. Zach Andrews pitched 2.2 innings, striking out four batters and allowing 8 earned runs.
Cooper Ness went 2 for 2 with 2 RBI's and
BG Santana hit a home-run in the second inning. The Crusaders will be on the road next weekend for a four-game series at Kansas Christian College.
