IRVING, TX-- The Dallas Christian College Softball team traveled to Irving on Tuesday evening to take on University of Dallas in a DH. UD took the first game 5-2 and won the second game 18-5. 

Game 1: The Lady Crusaders hung tough in the first game, grasping a 2-1 lead in the second inning after a 2 RBI single by Kaylee Castillo. UD responded with a 3 run third inning to regain the lead. DCC was not able to overcome the timely offense by UD and fell in a hard fought contest by a score of 5-2. Lacey Bainbridge went 2 for 3 in game 1 with 2 singles and Kaylee Castillo went 1 for 3 with a 2 RBI single. Autumn Minyard pitched 2 innings allowing 3 hits and gave up 4 earned runs. Katherine Hanks pitched 4 innings allowing 6 hits, 1 earned run in 19 batters faced. 

Game 2: UD started the first inning off with an offensive explosion scoring 6 runs. DCC responded with 4 runs in the next 2 innings to cut the deficit to 2 runs. UD responded with 9 runs in the bottom half of the third inning to take a 15-5 lead. The Lady Crusaders were not able to overcome the offensive attack of UD and lost 18-5. Hanna Roye went 3 for 4 with 1 RBI. Summer Hasfurter went 1 for 3 with 1 RBI. Hana Keil went 1 for 2 with a walk and 1 run scored. Summer Hasfurter pitched 2.1 innings, Hannah Mattingley pitched .2 innings, and Alexa Briones pitched 1.inning. THe Lady Crusaders will be back in action this weekend at Oren Good Park with games at 12 and 2 p.m. on Friday and games at 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. on Saturday against Kansas Wesleyan University.
