DALLAS, TX-- The Dallas Christian College women's softball team hosted Louisiana Christian in a DH at Oran Good Park on Tuesday afternoon. The Lady Crusaders fought hard in both games, but were not able to come out on top. DCC lost the first game 3-1 and dropped the second game 13-4.
Game 1: The Lady Crusaders jumped out to a 1-0 lead with an RBI double by
Mattee Fry in the bottom of the first inning. LCU responded with a 2 run third inning and scored an insurance run in the top of the seventh to clinch a 3-1 victory. DCC had an opportunity to come back in the bottom half of the 7th inning, but fell just short.
Summer Hasfurter had a stellar performance on the mound, pitching 7 innings, allowing 3 earned runs, 3 hits, and recorded 3 strikeouts.
Mattee Fry went 1 for 3 with one RBI and Summmer Hasfurter went 1 for 1 with a single and 2 walks.
Game 2: LCU exploded offensively scoring 7 runs in the second inning to down the Lady Crusaders 13-4.
Autumn Minyard pitched 4.1 innings, allowing 11 hits, 9 earned runs, 4 walks, and one strikeout. She got out of multiple jams with runners on base and battled hard through adversity on the mound.
Summer Hasfurter and
Avery Tapia bot had 1 hit and 1 RBI. The Lady Crusaders will take a week off and be back home on April 8 against Crowley's Ridge.
