DALLAS, TX-- The Dallas Christian College Baseball team competed in a DH on Saturday afternoon against Southwestern Christian University at 12 p.m. and Dillard University at 2:30 p.m. The Crusaders dropped the first game 9-2 and lost the second game 6-5 in a close matchup.
Game 1: In game 1, DCC gave up 2 runs in the firs inning, and tied the game at 2 in the bottom half of the inning with a home-run by
Stefon Reyes. SCU went on to score 7 unanswered runs and held the Crusaders scoreless for the remainder of the game to secure a 9-2 victory. J.R. Soto pitched 3.2 innings, giving up 6 hits and 8 runs in 21 batters faced.Â
Game 2: This was a tightly contested game between both clubs as Dillard was able to score in the bottom of the 7th inning to secure a 6-5 victory.
Derek Lewis pitched 5 innings, allowing 4 runs.
Stefon Reyes continued his outstanding day at the plate with a 2-4 performance.Â
Game 3: Dillard started the game off hot in the top of the first inning with three runs. DCC responded with 1 run in the bottom of the first inning. The Blue Devils continued its offensive hot-streak with 4 runs in the top of the second inning to take a 7-1 lead. DCC did not back down and scored 5 runs in the next 4 innings. DU continued to put runs on the board en route to a 18-8 victory to conclude the weekend.
Jaidon Erivez went 3-5 with 1 RBI and 3 runs scored. DCC will hit the road next weekend for a 4 game series against John Melvin University.Â
