DALLAS, TX-- The Dallas Christian College Men's Basketball Team held onto a thrilling 97-92 victory on Friday afternoon at home against the defending NCCAA DII National Champions Kansas Christian College.
DCC dominated the first half with key stops and an unstoppable offensive attack led by
Yuot Gai. Gai had 24 points and 9 rebounds in the first half and propelled the Crusaders to a 54-39 lead at halftime.
In the second half, KCC battled back and did not go away. KCC cut the deficit to two points, but
Yuot Gai sealed the game with a three-pointer to consolidate the 97-92 victory.
The Crusaders had 4 players in double figures.
DJ Smith had 11 points on 4-8 shooting from the field.
Ny'gel Boozer had 15 points on 4-11 shooting from the field.
Blake Walker had 11 points on 4-8 shooting from the field.
Yuot Gai had 33 points, 15 rebounds, and 2 assists on 12-15 shooting from the field and 6-6 from the free-throw line. DCC shot 36-72 (50%) from the field, 10-26 (38%) from the three-point line, and 15-17 (88%) from the free-throw line. DCC had 26 second chance points, 46 points in the paint, 11 points off turnovers, and 48 bench points. The Crusaders will host Southwestern Adventist on Monday at 6 p.m.
