DALLAS, TX-- The Dallas Christian College women's basketball team pushed Champion Christian College to the end of the game as the Tigers knocked down a shot with 1.3 seconds to secure a 74-73 victory over the Lady Crusaders. DCC responded too each basket throughout the game and had an impressive offensive performance. The Lady Crusaders are starting to mesh well together with the regional tournament coming up.
The Lady Crusaders held strong in the first quarter only trailing by 2 points after 10 minutes of play. The Tigers outscored DCC 17-10 in the second quarter to carry a 38-29 lead at the half-time break. DCC outscored CCC 44-36 in the second half.
THe Lady Crusaders shot 27-69 (39%) from the field, 11-23 (47%) from the three-point line, and 8-12 (66%) from the free-throw line. DCC had 9 points off the bench, 16 second chance points, and 9 points off turnovers.
Rakia Lee continued her hot scoring with 24 points on 8-16 shooting from the field.
Mckayla Washington was electric from beyond the arc with 17 points on 5-7 shooting from the three-point line.
Amber Covington tallied another double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds. DCC will look to bounce back on Tuesday against Randall University at 5 p.m.
