RANDALL, OK-- The Dallas Christian College women's basketball team defeated Randall University on Saturday afternoon by a score of 66-48 on the road to extend the Lady Crusaders win streak to two games and move to 2-1 in conference play.
The Lady Crusaders were very efficient from the field, shooting 18-34 (52%), 6-17 (35%) from the three-point line, and 9-11 (81%) from the free-throw line. DCC had 2 second chance points, 20 points in the paint, 6 fast break points, 12 bench points, and 20 points off turnovers.Â
Rakia Lee continued her stellar play with 20 points, 2 assists, and a rebound. Lee was a vital part in the recent success the Lady Crusaders have had in the last two games.
Amber Covington snared 9 rebounds and 7 points on the day.
Naiya Brown scored 7 points,
Hope Thomas had 2 points,
Mariah Lewis had 6 points, and
Yvonne Fuerte had 6 points.
DCC is playing well at the right time of the season with 6 games left before the regional tournament begins. The Lady Crusaders have scored 60 points in two straight games which is 10 points above the season average of 51 points per game. The defense has also stepped up big time allowing less than 60 points in the last two games which is 18 less points than the 78.7 points allowed per game this season. The Lady Crusaders will travel to Arlington Baptist University on Tuesday evening at 5 p.m. to try and extend the win-streak to three games.Â
