Box Score KEENE, TX-- The Dallas Christian College men's basketball team pulled out a tough victory on the road against Southwestern Adventist University on Wednesday evening. DCC was able to hang on to an 85-81 victory to top the Knights.
It was a very evenly contested ball-game as neither team could create a lead more than 5 points in the second half. SWAU led 33-30 at halftime in a game that needed Overtime to decide a winner. The Crusaders bench scored 64 points on the night to lift DCC to victory.
Joseph Allen was stellar off the bench with 29 points, 7 blocks, 3 steals, and 10 rebounds on 12-18 shooting from the field. He was phenomenal down the stretch of the game knocking down huge buckets, including the game-tying shot with .7 seconds left to send he game to overtime.
Taro Ford was another player off the DCC bench to make huge contributions with 17 points on 5-7 from the three-point line and 6-8 from the field.
Nico Matheus was the third player off the bench in double-figures for the Crusaders with 10 points and 3 rebounds.
Tyjuan Battles scored 13 points and had 4 rebounds.
As a team the Crusaders shot 31-71 (43%) from the field, 7-25 (28%) from the three-point line, and 16-21 (76%) from the free-throw line. DCC had 40 rebounds, 11 assists, 7 steals, and 10 blocks. The Crusaders will remain on the road heading to Randall University at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
