DALLAS, TX-- The Dallas Christian women's volleyball team (5-13, 2-1) defeated Eastfield College (6-13) in a five set thriller on Friday afternoon.
The Lady Crusaders overcame a 2-1 deficit to win the last two sets and protect homecourt with a 3-2 victory of Eastfield College. Eastfield College won the first set by a score of 25-18. DCC roared back in the second set with a commanding 25-18 victory in the second set. EFC gained back control with a captivating 29-27 victory that took every point to put the set away.
DCC did not panic and roared back in the fourth set to tie the game at two heading into the fifth and final set. DCC used home court advantage as the crowd made noise and the Lady Crusaders won the last set 15-12 to secure a 3-2 victory in five hard-fought sets. It was a back and forth match where the Lady Crusaders showed its toughness and were able to come back after facing an early deficit.Â
As a team DCC recorded 72 points, 56 kills, 9 Aces, 7 Blocks, 45 assists, and 88 digs.
Christen Downey electrified the crowd with a game-high 13 kills. Mckenna Ramsey and
Hannah Gallegos both recorded 8 kills.
Kelly Graves, and
Christen Downey both recorded 2 aces.
Autumn Allmon had a game high 5 blocks.
Kelly Graves had 20 assists,
Hannah Gallegos had 13 assists, and
Rae Leano had 5 assists.
Rae Leano had a team-high 21 digs,
Hannah Gallegos had 14 digs, and
Megan Ross had 10 digs. The Lady Crusaders will be back home tomorrow at 1 p.m. against Cedar Valley College.
