DALLAS, TX-- The Dallas Christian women's volleyball team (6-13, 2-1) defeated Cedar Valley College (10-14) in four sets on Saturday afternoon to secure its second victory in a row.
DCC came out the gate with energy in the first set. The Lady Crusaders took set 1 by a score of 25-17. Cedar Valley College bounced back in the second set with a 25-15 victory to even the match at 1. The Lady Crusaders took control in the third set as they did not allow the Suns to develop any attacking rhythm. DCC blazed through the third set with a commanding 25-13 victory to take a 2-1 lead heading into the third set.Â
In the fourth set DCC continued its dominant play in the fourth and final set closing it out with a 25-16 win. As a team, DCC had 68 points, 46 kills, 11 Aces,11 blocks, 35 assists, and 42 digs.
Christen Downey led the Lady Crusaders with 14 kills,
Alexis Garner had 9 kills, and Mckenna Ramsey has 8 kills.
Hannah Gallegos had 3 Aces,
Kelly Graves had 2 Aces, and
Rae Leano had 2 Aces.
Autumn Allmon had 7 blocks, Mary-Nichole Fenter had 3 blocks, and
Makenna Rambo had 3 blocks.
Hannah Gallegos led DCC with 13 assists,
Kelly Graves had 12 assists, and
Christen Downey had 2 assists.
Rae Leano had 12 digs,
Kelly Graves had 7 digs, and
Hannah Gallegos had 5 digs. The Lady Crusaders will be back at home on Tuesday, October 4 against Southwestern Adventist University.Â
