KEENE, TX-- The Dallas Christian College women's volleyball team competed in a Tri-match on Friday, Sep. 23 at Southwestern Adventist University. The Lady Crusaders topped SWAU 3-0 in the first game and lost in four sets in the second match against Eastfield College.
Game 1: The Lady Crusaders dominated this match from start to finish. DCC won in straight sets 25-20, 25-6, and 25-9. The Lady Crusaders only allowed the Knights to score 15 points in the final two sets of the match combined.Â
As a team DCC notched 44 points, 37 kills, 5 Aces, 2 blocks, 25 assists, and 10 digs. SWAU only recorded 14 points, 11 kills, 3 Aces, 0 blocks, 11 assists, and 50 digs.Â
Makenna Rambo led the Lady Crusaders with 9 kills,
Christen Downey had 8 kills, and
Cameron Del Angel had 7 kills.
Christen Downey had 2 Aces, and
Kelly Graves and
Rae Leano both recorded 1 Ace.
Christen Downey,
Autumn Allmon, and
Makenna Rambo all recorded one block.
Rae Leano led the team with 8 digs.
Game 2: The second game of the day started off with a strong start for the Lady Crusaders as they won the first game of the set by a commanding score of 25-14. Eastfield College bounced back in the second game with a slim 25-23 victory to tie the match at 1 heading into the third set. Eastfield continued its success with a 25-18 victory in the third set.Â
DCC continued to battle in the final set, but came up short as Eastfield was able to hold off a late rally. As a team DCC recorded 66 points, 44 kills, 10 Aces, 12 blocks, 11 assists, and 140 digs.
Christen Downey recorded a team-high 20 kills,
Hannah Gallegos led the team with 4 Aces,
Autumn Allmon led the team with 9 blocks,
Cameron Del Angel had 5 assists, and
Megan Ross had a game high 38 digs.
Rae Leano had the second most digs with 37. The Lady Crusaders next match will be at Langston University on Friday, Sep. 27 at 5 p.m.
