GREENVILLE, SC-- The NCCAA announced the soccer awards for Division II Women's Soccer on Tuesday afternoon. Sophomore defender Jadyn Renteria was named a second Team All-American.

Renteria started all 11 games this season and was a huge difference maker in the late post-season push the lady Crusaders made this season. DCC finished as Southwest regional runner-ups this season.

Renteria says she is gracious all her hard work paid off. "Right when the season ended last year I knew I wanted to make myself better for the team," said Renteria. January to August I trained to be the best possible athlete I could be and it makes me happy it all paid off," said Renteria.

A quote Jadyn Renteria uses to motivate herself is "Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard." A bible verse she uses to describe her experience as a student athlete is 2 Chronicles 15:7 "But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded."
