BETHANY, OK-- The Dallas Christian College women's basketball team suffered a tough defeat on the road against Southwestern Christian University on Saturday afternoon. After securing an early lead, the Lady Crusaders lost in a competitive matchup 55-48.
DCC jumped out to a 15-11 lead with a quick start in the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Lady Crusaders remained poised as they carried a 30-26 lead into the half. SCU outscored DCC 29-18 in the second half to secure a 55-48 victory over the Lady Crusaders. Although, DCC suffered a loss, they competed hard and put together a valiant effort in close matchup.
Rakia Lee scored 17 points on 7-20 shooting in 30 minutes. Lee also contributed 2 rebounds and 2 assists.
Keiarra Rivers notched a double-double with 12 points, 10 rebounds, and 2 assists. Amber Covington tallied 8 points and 9 rebounds in 40 minutes. The Lady Crusaders will face-off against Jarvis Christian College on Tuesday, Nov. 8 at 5:30 p.m.
