DALLAS, TX-- The Dallas Christian College men's basketball team (1-6) suffered an 83-61 loss against NAIA affiliated UNT-Dallas on Saturday afternoon. DCC was off to a hot start, but was not able to sustain the momentum as the Trailblazers pulled away.
In the first half, DCC started on a 16-4 run, but the Trailblazers ended the half on a 33-15 run to make the score 37-31 heading into halftime. The Crusaders only trailed by 6 points after 20 minutes of play and looked to continue its tough play heading into the final 20 minutes.Â
UNT-Dallas outscored DCC 46-30 in the final half of play to secure a 83-61 win over the Crusaders. Joseph Allen continued his crisp play with 20 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 5-9 from the FT line, and shot 7-13 from the field. Tilly Hobson was 8-10from the FT line with 10 points, 2 assists, and 9 rebounds. Taro Ford was the third Crusader in double digits with 10 points on 3-7 shooting from the field.Â
As a team DCC shot 17-47 (36.2%) from the field, 6-17 (35.3%) from the 3 PT line, and 21-28 (75%) from the FT line. DCC scored 4 second chance points, 12 points in the paint, 9 points off turnovers, 2 fast break points, and 6 bench points. DCC will be back on the road Monday, Nov. 14 against Texas College at 7:30 p.m.
