DCC Men's Basketball Played Pair of Road Games Past Week

Box Score

FARMERS BRANCH, Texas – The Dallas Christian College men's basketball team is coming off a pair of games this week with a 102-81 setback at Barclay College on Saturday and 88-63 victory at Southwestern Adventist University on Tuesday.

Dallas Christian sits at 7-6 overall and checked into this week's National Christian Collegiate Athletic Association (NCCAA) Power Ratings at number nine. Barclay sat second in those rankings and is just behind Randall University, who DCC played prior to Barclay.

The Crusaders played Southwestern Adventist for the second time in about a week and picked up another blowout win. This time they battled at Keene, Texas, and grabbed a 38-32 halftime lead. Like the first matchup, DCC eclipsed 50 points in the second half and put the game out of reach.

Reggie Daniels delivered a career performance with a 23-point, 17-rebound double-double. The Center, Texas, native shot 10-for-12 from the floor and added two steals and blocks. Tilyr Hobson and Nick Erves matched near double-doubles with 16 points and nine rebounds apiece. Versache Buchanan chipped in 10 points.

The Crusaders shot 41.3 percent and made 10 three-pointers in the loss on Saturday. They could not contain a tough Barclay team that posted at least 50 points in each stanza. Erves and Jordan Chambers were the top contributors with 14 and 13 points, respectively. Daniels added 10 points and had a team-high eight rebounds. Hobson followed with seven boards on the glass.

Dallas Christian has reconfigured its upcoming schedule due to weather. The UNT-Dallas road game scheduled for Thursday night has been moved to Saturday at 4 p.m. That contest is an exhibition. The road game at Ecclesia College has been canceled. The Crusaders will host a trio of southwest regional games next week, with Arlington Baptist University, Champion Christian, and Randall University.
