Box Score MOORE, Okla. – The Dallas Christian College men's basketball team reached double-digits in made three-pointers for the second night in a row, but were unable to cool down a tough Randall University squad that shot 51.4 percent for the night in a 107-85 final.
The Crusaders started with a seven of the first 10 points as Moses Compton hit a three-pointer and Jalen Perez made a layup for a 5-0 advantage. Most of the half was the sides exchanging small leads. With 3:43 left a Jordan Marshall three for Randall extended the lead to five (44-39). Nick Erves responded with a triple and it was a two-point gap. A 7-0 run stretched the difference to 51-42. Jordan Chambers pulled DCC closer, but Marshall had a three-pointer make it a double-digit difference and a minute left. In the next minute at intermission, The Crusaders were behind 59-45.
Dallas Christian tried to keep up in the second half, but the Saints got a steal and dunk by Brent Clark to set a 65-48 advantage. The Crusaders pulled to 73-63, but seven more points got Randall up to a manageable lead the rest of the game.
Reggie Daniels matched Micah Tucker, who had a season-high, with 15 points. Erves followed with 14 points and tied the team-high for rebounds with eight. Tilyr Hobson was the other Crusader with eight on the glass. Perez and Compton had nine points apiece, with Compton's all coming from downtown.
The Crusaders shot 42 percent from the floor. They combined for 21 assists led by Royce Mendez with four. Both teams made 11 three-pointers.
The Saints were led by Marshall with 30 points and 12 rebounds. Clark chipped in 22 points for the other individual's double-digit scoring night.
Dallas Christian is on the road with another conference foe this Saturday at Barclay. Tip-off is slated for 3 p.m. after the women's game. The team added Texas Christian College at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 8 at home.
