FARMERS BRANCH, Texas – The Dallas Christian College women's basketball team rolled off its fourth straight victory on Monday night and third against an National Christian Collegiate Athletic Conference (NCCAA) countable game after dispatching Southwestern Adventist University, 71-40.

DCC shook off a 9-7 first quarter deficit and broke the doors open with a 28-9 advantage in the second stanza. Up 35-18 at halftime, the Crusaders extended the advantage with a 21-8 third scoring period.

The Crusaders were able to benefit from 48 turnovers by Southwestern Adventist by turning 42 points off of them. DCC also had a 25-9 edge in points off turnovers, 34-16 points in the paint, and 24-6 fastbreak points.

Taylor Brokenberry was the leading individual off the bench for the Crusaders with personal-highs in points (13) and rebounds (15) for her first career double-double. Avery Roberts tossed in 11 points with a trio of three-pointers. Micayla Havard rounded out the trio of double-digit scorers with 10, which seven came in the second quarter. Shabaria Walter matched a team-high 15 rebounds and joined Courtnee Locke with six steals for the team-most. The duo scored eight and nine points, respectively. The team combined for 28 steals.

The Knights were led by Sarah Page with a double-double of 17 points and 15 boards. Asia Toney grabbed a game-high 16 rebounds, and Indiana Thompson completed a trio of rebounders in double figures with 10. The Knights recorded a 61-53 edge on the glass.

Dallas Christian won for the fifth time in the last six outings and are 5-1 at home. This was the second victory against the Knights this season, after winning 70-38 in Keene, Texas on November 5. Last season, the team's longest winning streak was three games which did include two over Kansas Christian College and Southwestern Adventist, the past two opponents DCC topped.

Dallas Christian is on the road Tuesday evening at Randall University. Tipoff is at 5:30 p.m.
