DCC Women's Soccer Drops Southwest Regional Matchup on Monday

KEENE, Texas - The Dallas Christian College women's soccer team fell 3-1 versus Arlington Baptist University in the first round of the National Christian Collegiate Athletic Association (NCCAA) on Monday evening at host school Southwestern Adventist University. The host team Knights would play Randall University afterwards and the two winners on Monday would compete for the regional title on Wednesday.

DCC struck first with a goal by Liberty Holmes in the opening 10 minutes on an assist from Andrea Hernandez. Holmes, a native of Keller, Texas, scored two of the three goals by the Crusaders on the campaign. Arlington Baptist answered with the remaining three goals - all in the first half. Playing shorthanded, the Patriots were able to force a strong defense that DCC could not break in the second half despite a few good chances in the later moments of the match.

It was the first season for DCC to bring the program back. Head Coach Eric Smith assembled a team of 17 student-athletes that battled hard all season long.

Be sure to follow the team on Instagram @dccwomenssoccer.
