Box Score HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – The Dallas Christian College men's basketball game dropped its first NCCAA Regional game on Thursday by a final of 82-68 at Champion Christian College.
The Crusaders found themselves down 14 at intermission (44-30) and could not makeup the gap in the second half. The Crusaders were outshot 45.2 percent to 41.7 percent but the difference was at the free throw line. The Tigers benefited from a 35-50 effort at the charity stripe, while DCC was held to 9-of-15.
The top scorers for Dallas Christian for the second straight outing were recently added Jordan Chambers and Nick Erves. Chambers led the way with 16 points thanks to three made three-pointers. Erves chipped in 14. The next highest scorers did not reach double figures with Reggie Daniels and Tilyr Hobson with eight apiece.
The Tigers were led by Braylon Hawkins with 29 points. He was 12-for-15 at the line and grabbed 12 boards for a double-double.
Dallas Christian falls to 2-2 on the year and returns home this Saturday versus Ecclesia College. Tip-off is slated for around 2:30 p.m. after the women's game.
