Box Score HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – The Dallas Christian College women's basketball team dropped a 90-69 contest at Champion Christian College in the first NCCAA Regional game of the season. Champion jumped out to a 22-10 lead in three minutes and were able to pad a 33-17 edged at the end of one quarter. The Crusaders were unable to close the gap the rest of the way, but did enjoy a 28-point fourth quarter to finish the road matchup.
A trio of players reached double figures led by Mckayla Washington with a personal best this season of 18 points. She has combined for 32 points in the last two outings. Behind the leading scorer for DCC was Keiarra Rivers with 16 points. She grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds for a double-double. Shabaria Walter added a double-double of her own with 10 points and boards.
The Crusaders outdid the Tigers on rebounds 51-48 and also improved their free throw shooting with a 12-for-15 effort.
Champion Christian was led by Sckiya Banister with 19 points, while Destiny Gonzalez and Lucy Parson each had 16.
Dallas Christian falls to 1-5 on the year and returns home this Saturday versus Ecclesia College. Tip-off is slated for 12:30 p.m.
