Box Score FARMERS BRANCH, Texas – The Dallas Christian College women's basketball team was defeated on Friday against Bacone College in its home opener. The Crusaders fell to 1-1 on the season after a tough Bacone press helped generate several turnovers to lead to 28 points from them.
Dallas Christian was led by Gabby Garza who had a double-double with 20 points and 18 rebounds. The freshman from Little Elm, Texas, shot 7-for-10 from the field and came up with six offensive rebounds. McKayla Washington and Daizja Jolly each scored nine and Courtnee Locke added eight points. She once again had a team-high in assists with four.
The Warriors improved to 1-1 on the season and swiped 24 steals to go with 26 assists. Elisa Gonzalez had 25 points for a team-high. She and Alize Ruiz each recorded double-doubles with by matching a game-best 18 boards. Ruiz also tossed in 17 points to complete her double-double. Illeana Frenchman in 14 minutes poured in 23 points off the bench.
Dallas Christian heads out for its next two games on the road. Next up is Monday, November 23 at Texarkana College at 5 p.m. After that is a week from then at Ozark Christian at 12 p.m.
The next home game for the Crusaders will be December 7 against Texarkana College again. The first tip for that is 5:30 p.m.
