DALLAS, Texas — Dallas Christian College volleyball earned a hard-fought home victory over Jarvis Christian, winning 3-1 on Friday evening. The Lady Crusaders battled through four competitive sets, taking the match by scores of 25-22, 26-24, 23-25, 25-22.
Dallas Christian came out strong in the opening set, using a balanced offensive attack to take the first frame, 25-22. The Lady Crusaders carried that momentum into the second set, edging Jarvis Christian in a back-and-forth battle, 26-24, to take a 2-0 match lead.
Jarvis Christian responded in the third set, narrowly claiming a 25-23 victory to extend the match. Dallas Christian remained composed, however, closing out the fourth set 25-22 to secure the 3-1 home victory.
Zoelley Herrera led the Dallas Christian offense with 13 kills while also contributing 21 assists and 14 digs. Kinsley Jackson added 11 kills, while Rylie Goff recorded 16 assists.
Defensively, Alyssa Carreras led the team recording 20 digs, Zoelley Herrera with 14 digs, and Emma Martinez adding 13 digs, helping the Lady Crusaders maintain their defensive pressure throughout the match. Carreras also contributed four service aces.
Dallas Christian finished the match with 49 kills, 47 assists, 17 service aces and 66 digs, overcoming Jarvis Christian's strong defensive effort.
The Lady Crusaders will look to build on the momentum from the home victory as they improve to 2-3 on the season.
