SPRINGFIELD, MO-- At Bob Smith Field, Dallas Christian (14-29) used a big third inning and a dominant outing on the mound to defeat Calvary (2-33) by a score of 10-3. Calvary struck first with a three-run top of the third, capitalizing on a pair of Dallas Christian errors and timely hits from Jaaden Nicholson and Bo Locust to take an early 3-0 lead.
Dallas Christian responded immediately in the bottom half with a game-changing six-run inning. After loading the bases, Wyatt Smith got the Crusaders on the board with an RBI single before Andrew Hickey was hit by a pitch to keep the rally alive. Jonas Ledesma delivered the biggest blow with a two-RBI single to tie the game, and Kennedy Butler followed with a clutch two-run double to give Dallas Christian a 6-3 advantage.
The Crusaders continued to build momentum, adding a run in the fourth on an RBI single from Hickey, and three more in the sixth inning. Ledesma drove in another run with a base hit, and Isaac Young capped the scoring with a two-RBI fielder's choice to push the lead to 10-3.
On the mound, Bryce Garza delivered a complete-game performance, allowing just three runs—only one earned—on seven hits while striking out seven. His ability to settle in after the third inning kept Calvary off the board the rest of the way.
Offensively, Dallas Christian was led by Kennedy Butler, who went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs, while Jonas Ledesma added two hits and three RBIs. Wyatt Smith also contributed two hits and an RBI in the win.
Dallas Christian finished with 11 hits and showed patience at the plate with five walks, taking control of the game early and never looking back after the third inning surge.
