SB: Crusaders finish first 2 days at USSAA Space Coast Spring Games with 2-2 record

The Dallas Christian College Softball team is competing in the USSAA Space Coast Spring Games over Spring Break. So far through 4 games the Crusaders are 2-2. The Crusaders dropped game 1 against Cottey College 10-1, won game 2 7-0 against University Fort Lauderdale, lost game 3 against Indiana University South Bend 5-4.
 
Game 1: The Crusaders could not overcome its offensive struggles, falling 10-1 in the first game against Cottey College. Erin Thibault went 2 for 3 at the plate with a double and an RBI. Nizhoni Yellow pitched 4 innings allowing 6 hits, 5 runs, 2 earned runs in 23 batters faced.
 
Game 2: Toni Meyer was dominant in the circle for the Crusaders, only allowing 2 hits in a 7-0 shutout victory. Kayla Looper went 2 for 5 at the plate with a double and 2 RBI's. Georgina Carrillo went 1 for 4 at the plate with 3 RBIs. Laila Robins went 2 for 3 at the plate.
 
Toni Meyer pitched a complete game shutout, going 7 innings allowing 2 hits, 3 strikeouts, and no walks in 22 batters faced.
 
Game 3: The Crusaders could not hold onto an early 3-0 lead as IUSB scored 4 runs in the final 4 innings to grasp a 5-4 victory.
 
Erin Thibault went 2 for 3 at the plate with 2 RBIs. Jasmine Hernandez pitched 7 innings allowing 8 hits, 5 earned runs, 4 strikeouts in 32 batters faced.
 
Game 4: The Crusaders offense exploded for 17 runs on its way to a dominant 17-1 victory against Florida Memorial University.
 
Kenadie Cavazos went 2 for 4 at the plate with 3 RBIs. Julissa Amparo went 3 for 4 at the plate with 2 doubles and 3 RBIs. Perla Herrera went 3 for 4 at the plate with 4 RBIs. Kayla Looper pitched 5 innings allowing 2 hits, 1 run, and had 4 strikeouts in 36 batters faced.
 
The Crusaders will be back on the field Thursday at 12:15 p.m. against Cottey College and face-off against New College of Florida at 2:30 p.m.
