JACKSON, MS-- The Dallas Christian Softball team finished its weekend off at the River City Classic with a 16-6 victory against Alcorn State University. The Crusaders also fought had in the first game, losing 11-8 against Alabama A&M University.
The Lady Crusaders held a lead for a portion of the game against Alabama A&M but were not able to get the victory as they lost 11-8. The Crusaders bounced back in the second game with its second win against an NCAA DI school in program history.
Game 1: The Crusaders jumped out to an early lead, but Alabama A&M fought back to complete an 11-8 victory.
Kayla Looper went 4 for 5 at the plate with 3 RBI's.
Georgina Carrillo went 3 for 5 at the plate.
Julia Saucedo went 2 for 4 with 2 RBI's.
Game 2: The Crusaders dominated Alcorn State University from start to finish with a 16-6 victory.
Kayla Looper picked up the win in the circle, going 6 innings, giving up 5 runs, and 2 strikeouts in 32 batters faced.Â
Kyleigh Lewis went 1 for 4 at the plate with 2 RBI's
Georgina Carrillo went 3 for 5 at the plate with 2 RBI's.
Erin Thibault went 3 for 5 at the plate with 5 RBI's. The Crusaders will be at home at Oak Grove Park in Grapevine, TX on Friday afternoon against Howard Payne University.
