GRAPEVINE, TX-- The Dallas Christian College women's softball team outscored Howard Payne University 14-3 in a 2 game series sweep. The Crusaders won game 1 5-3 and won game 2 9-0 in 5 innings.
Game 1: The first 2 innings were scoreless, in the third inning both teams scored 2 runs to keep the game even at 2. HPU scored 1 run in the top of the 6th inning, the Crusaders answered with 3 runs in the bottom half, which propelled them to a 5-3 victory.
Dynestee-Marie Kanae-Huihui drove in the game winning RBI with a ground-out to second base, which scored the game-winning run.

Kayla Looper went 2 for 4 with a double,
Kyleigh Lewis went 1 for 3 with an RBI,
Georgina Carrillo went 2 for 3 with 1 RBI, and
Laila Robins went 2 for 3 with a run scored.Â
Kaylee Brent went 3 innings allowing 5 hits, 2 runs, and 2 earned runs, and 1 strikeout.
Nizhoni Yellow picked up the win in the circle going 4 innings in relief, allowing 1 run in 14 batters faced.
Game 2: The Crusaders used a 6 run third inning to propel its team to a 9-0 victory and extend its winning streak to 3 games.Â
Kayla Looper went 2 for 3 with a home-run blast, a double, and an RBI.
Kyleigh Lewis went 2 for 3 with a triple and an RBI.
Julissa Amparo went 2 for 2 with 2 RBI's.
Julia Saucedo went 2 for 3 with 1 RBI.
Toni Meyer pitched a complete game shut-out going 5 innings, allowing 3 hits, and 4 walks in 21 batters faced.
The Crusaders will be back in action Tuesday at Nelson University at 12 and 2 p.m. looking to extend its winning streak.
