TEXARKANA, TX-- The Dallas Christian College Men's Soccer Team had a successful road trip with a dominant 3-1 victory on the road against Texas A&M Texarkana. The Crusaders offense fulfilled its potential tonight, netting 3 goals.
The Crusaders offense has shown flashes of of success in the first two games, and finally broke through in the 23rd minute with a goal by
Jose Cervantes on an assist from
David Rivas. The Crusaders defense held strong the rest of the 1st half, carrying a 1-0 lead into the halftime break.
DCC carried its momentum from a strong first half into the second half with an early goal in the 49th minute from
Kevin Jacinto on an assist from
Hector Dominguez. 6 minutes later,
Kevin Jacinto laced his second goal of the game into the back of the net to extend the Crusaders lead to 3-0.
Texarkana scored its lone goal in the 65th minute to make the score 3-1. The Crusaders dominated from start to finished and snatched its first victory of the season with a 3-1 victory on the road.
Cristianio Castillo recorded 5 saves for the match, with the combination of stellar defense on the back line led to a dominant victory. The Crusaders will look to continue its consistent play on Tuesday against Austin College at 5 PM.
