SHERMAN, TX-- The Dallas Christian College Men's Soccer Team notched a 2-2 tie on the road against D3 Austin College on a late goal in the 85th minute by
David Rivas.
The Crusaders jumped out to a fast start with a left-footed goal by
Kevin Jacinto in the 4th minute. It did not take the Roos long to respond with a goal of its own one minute later to even up the score at 1. The Roos continued its momentum with another goal in the 6th minute to take a 2-1 lead.
Austin College carried a 2-1 lead into halftime, after 3 goals in the first 6 minutes, no goals were scored the rest of the half. The intensity carried over into the second half with neither team budging on the back line.
The Crusaders found the back of the net in the 85th minute with a goal by
David Rivas to tie the game with only 5 minutes left to play. DCC held strong in the last 5 minutes to secure a 2-2 tie.
DCC had 12 shots (5 shots on goal), 2 saves by
Cristiano Castillo, 1 corner kick, and 8 fouls. The Crusaders will look to carry its momentum of stellar play on Saturday against UHV at 3:30 PM.
