MANHATTAN, KS-- The Dallas Christian College women's volleyball team finished up its opening weekend with two tough matches against Sterling College and Cottey College. The Lady Crusaders lost 3-0 (25-18, 25-21, 25-23) against Sterling College and lost 3-0 (25-16, 25-21, 25-11) against Cottey College.
Game 1: DCC fought hard in three hard-fought sets, leading quite a bit, but in the end Sterling College held off a stellar effort from Dallas Christian College.Â
The Lady Crusaders had 29 points, 20 kills, 8 Aces, 1 block, 25 assists, and 39 Digs.
Rachael Maxwell and
Anaiyah Peavler had 4 kills each, and
Jaycie Stanley had 3 kills.
Zoelley Herrera had 3 Aces,
Jaycie Stanley had 3 Aces, and
Alyssa Carreras had 1 Ace.
Brooklyn Ramey-Halkyard had 1 block,
Zoelley Herrera led the team with 13 assists,
Jaycie Stanley had 8 assists, and
Brooklyn Ramey-Halkyard had 3 assists.
Alyssa Carreras had 10 digs, Brookly Ramey-Halkyard had 7 digs, and
Lanie Wink had 6 digs.
Game 2: The Lady Crusaders put up a valiant effort against Cottey College, but lost in 3 sets to end the opening weekend of the season.
The Lady Crusaders notched 37 points, 22 kills, 3 Aces, 12 blocks, 20 assists, and 44 digs.
