KANSAS CITY, MO-- The Dallas Christian Baseball team played 22 innings total on Wednesday afternoon losing a thrilling 15 inning defensive stand-off against Arlington Baptist University 2-1. The Crusaders bounced back in the second game, defeating Ecclesia College 8-4 for the second time in a row.
Game 1- DCC scored in the top half of the first inning on a
Frederick Perry single. Arlington Baptist scored on a sac-fly and then 12 innings later hit a walk-off single in a game that felt like it would never end due to the outstanding pitching performance from both teams.
Bryce Garza pitched 5 innings allowing 7 hits, 1 run and 3 strikeouts.
Jonas Ledesma pitched 9 innings allowing 7 hits, 1 runs, and 3 strikeouts. The Crusaders were not able to get the bats going, and faced an elimination game against Ecclesia College.
Game 2- The Crusaders scored 7 runs in the third and fourth innings to grasp control of the game.
AJ Smith went 2 for 4 with 1 RBI.
Derek Lewis went 2 for 4 at the plate with 1 RBI.
Trevor Moore pitched 5 innings allowing 2 hits, 4 runs, 2 earned runs, and 4 strikeouts.Â
Kreed Jones pitched 2 innings allowing 1 hit and no runs to clinch a Crusaders victory. DCC will face-off against familiar rival Arlington Baptist University in the NDAG Regional Championship game at noon. DCC will have to win twice to win the regional championship.Â
