RICHARDSON, TX-- The Dallas Christian College softball team split a DH on a rainy Saturday afternoon against Howard Payne University on Saturday afternoon at JJ Pearce High School. DCC won game 1 12-9 and lost game 2 14-10.
Game 1: The Home-run ball was huge for DCC as the smashed 2 and 6 RBI's were produced from those hits. DCC was able to use its high powered offense to blaze past HPU.Â
Kaylee Brent went 2 for 4 with a home-run blast and 5 RBI's. Brent is up to 28 RBI's in 12 games. She is averaging 2.3 RBI's per game.
Laila Robins went 1 for 2 with 3 RBI's.
Lia Rojas went 2 for 3 with 2 RBI's. Georgina Carillo went 2 for 3 with 1 RBI.Â
Kelsey Cauthron pitched 3.2 innings allowing 4 earned runs and 7 strikeouts in 27 batters faced.
Autumn Minyard picked up the save allowing 2 hits and 1 earned run. DCC prevailed victorious in game 1 12-9.
Game 2: The Lady Crusaders battled tough in the second game of the day, but were not able to win as HPU won 14-10.
Kaylee Brent went 2 for 4 with 2 RBI's.
Emma Leraas had a phenomenal day at the plate going 4 for 4 with 5 RBI's and 2 home-runs.
Erin Thibault had a stellar day at the plate going 2 for 4 with 2 RBI's.
Nizhoni Yellow pitched 3 innings allowing 6 hits and 4 earned runs and 2 strikeouts.
Toni Meyer pitched .2 innings allowing 2 earned runs and 1 strikeout.
Alyssa Carreras pitched .2 innings allowing 1 hit and 1 run.Â
Hannah Mattingley pitched 1.2 innings allowing 1 earned run.
Kaylee Brent pitched 1 inning allowing 3 earned runs and 1 strikeout.Â
