FARMERS BRANCH, TX-- The Dallas Christian College Crusaders split a DH on Saturday afternoon at Glenda and Denny Dixson Field with a 6-4 loss against Texas A&M Texarkana in game 1 and a 8-6 win against Schreiner University in game 2.
Game 1- TAMUT took an early 3-0 lead and the Crusaders were not able to push any runs across in the first 4 innings of play. DCC scored 4 runs in the final 3 innings, but was not able to overcome the early deficit as they lost 6-4.
Chase Childs went 2 for 3 at the plate.
Frederick Perry went 2 for 4 with 3 RBI's.
Baylor Patton pitched 4 innings allowing 8 hits, 2 earned runs, and 3 strikeouts in 21 batters faced.Â
Game 2- The Crusaders jumped out to a 5-2 lead after 6 innings of play. A 4 run 7th inning saw Schreiner take a 6-5 lead. DCC answered back with a 3 run 7th inning and closed out the final inning with solid defense to lead to an 8-6 victory.
Jaidon Erivez was 2 for 3 at the plate.
Chase Childs was 2 for 4 at the plate.
Riekkhen Bostick was 2-3 with 3 RBI's.
Derek Lewis pitched 6 innings allowing 8 hits, 2 runs, and 5 strikeouts.
Jonas Ledesma pitched 2 innings allowing 2 hits, and 1 earned run. He also picked up the win. The Crusaders will be back in action next weekend at SCU in Oklahoma City.
