RICHARDSON, TX-- The Dallas Christian College Softball team opened up at home on Monday afternoon at JJ Pearce High School against Dillard University. The Lady Crusaders swept the two-game series with a 13-5 victory in game 1 and a 7-6 walk-off victory in game 2 on a walk-off home-run by Freshman
Kyleigh Lewis.
Game 1- The Lady Crusaders exploded for 13 runs in 5 innings to secure a 13-5 victory via run rule.
Kelsey Cauthron picked up her first win of the season on the mound pitching 5 innings, allowing 5 hits, 4 earned runs, and 5 strikeouts in 25 batters faced.
Dynestee-Marie Kanae-Huihui went 3 for 3 at the plate with a home-run and 3 RBI's.
Laila Robins also had a stellar day at the plate with 3 hits, a home-run, and 4 RBI's.
Game 2- To close the series out, DCC came back from a 3 run deficit and walked the game off with a clutch solo home-run by
Kyleigh Lewis to secure a 7-6 victory.
Kyleigh Lewis went 3 for 4 with an RBI and hit the walk-off home-run that secured the victory.
Kaylee Brent had a phenomenal game at the plate with 2 home-runs and 6 RBI's.Â
Kaylee Brent pitched 4.2 innings allowing 7 hits, 4 earned runs, and 6 strikeouts.
Autumn Minyard pitched stellar out of the bullpen going 2.1 innings allowing no runs, no hits, and tallying 4 strikeouts. DCC will be back at home this Friday and Saturday against Wayland Baptist.
