FARMERS BRANCH, TX-- The Dallas Christian College Baseball team propelled itself to a 8-7 walk-off win against Champion Christian College on Saturday afternoon to open up conference play.
The Crusaders scored 4 runs in the first 2 innings and then Champion Christian bounced back with 5 runs in the next 2 innings to lead to 5-4. DCC responded with a 3 run 5th inning to take a 7-5 lead. Champion tied the game at 7 in the 8th inning.
Lamar Blatnick stepped up to the plate in the bottom of the 11th inning and hit a single past the second-baseman to win the game.
Caden Beck started the game and went 3 innings allowing 5 runs, 4 earned runs, in 17 batters faced.
Trevor Moore pitched 4 innings allowing 2 runs, no earned runs, 2 strikeouts in 19 batters faced.
Riley Hernandez pitched 1.2 innings allowing 2 hits and no runs.
Jonas Ledesma pitched 2.1 innings, allowing no runs in 7 batters faced.
Jaidon Erivez had a stellar day at the plate with 4 hits, a walk, hit by pitch, and 2 RBI's.
Andrew Hickey went 2-4 with with 1 RBI.
Derek Lewis went 1-6 with 2 RBI's.
Kreed Jones went 3-6. The Crusaders will be back in action tomorrow to conclude the three-game series at 11 AM and 1:30 PM.
