KEENE, TX-- The Dallas Christian College men's basketball team fell short 83-79 in an overtime thriller on Thursday night against Southwestern Adventist University.
Promise Elem made a tremendous play as time expired throwing up a last second shot off an offensive rebound to send the game into overtime. DCC was not able to overcome the offensive blitz from the Knights in OT.
DCC never gave up and fought hard until the end of the game. Tough defense and competitive fight kept the Crusaders in the game, but they were not able to overcome the late surg from the Knights and lost 83-79.
DCC shot 28-79 (35%) from the field, 7-26 (26%) from the three-point line, and 16-19 (84%) from the free-throw line. DCC had 18 second chance points, 38 points in the paint, 6 points off turnovers, and 31 bench points.
Ny'gel Boozer had 22 points and 7 rebounds.
Nick Lancit had 15 points and 5 rebounds.
Terius Maxie had 11 points,
Promise Elem had 9 points, and
Carlas Canady had 9 points. DCC will be back in action on Wednesday in the regional tournament.
