FARMERS BRANCH, TX-- The Dallas Christian College women's basketball team gutted out a tough victory on the road Thursday night against Southwestern Adventist University 48-41.
The Lady Crusaders overcame a 2 point third quarter with a 23 point fourth quarter to secure a 48-41 victory on the road to close out conference play with an 8-3 record.
DCC shot 16-54 (29.6%) from the field, 3-18 (16.7%) from the three-point line, and 13-18 (72%) from the free-throw line. DCC had 7 second chance points, 24 points in the paint, 27 points off turnovers, and 21 bench points.
Although, DCC struggled offensively, its defensive prowess reigned supreme, causing 28 turnovers and capitalizing off those turnovers by converting it to 27 points.
Jaden Mitchell came up clutch for the Lady Crusaders in the 4th quarter with 12 points and shooting 6-8 from the free-throw line to seal the game. The Lady Crusaders will be in action next week on Wednesday as they kick off the regional tournament.Â
