FARMERS BRANCH, TX-- The Dallas Christian College Women's Basketball Team (1-0) opened up its season at home on Tuesday night against Southeastern Baptist College with a resounding 84-54 victory.
The Crusaders dominated this game from start to finish, jumping out to a 26-12 lead in the first quarter, shooting 10-24 (41%) from the field. The Crusaders kept its momentum going in the second quarter outscoring the Chargers 21-16 to carry a 47-28 lead into the locker-room. The Crusaders shot 6-22 (27%) from, the field in the second quarter.
DCC continued its dominance in the third quarter ith 23 points on 47% shooting from the field, and 14 points in the 4th quarter on 7-16 (43%) shooting from the field. DCC for the game shot 32-81(40%) from the field, 7-29 (24%) from the three-point line, and 13-27 (48.1%) from the free-throw line.
As a team the Crusaders had 13 second chance points, 28 points in the paint, 22 bench points, and 29 points off turnovers.
Kera Martinez had a team-high 18 points on 8-19 shooting from the field.
Chloe Buckner had 16 points and 4 rebounds on 6-12 shooting from the field and 3-8 shooting from the three-point line.
Mattie Parham had 11 points and 3 rebounds.
DeMia Jackson had a near double-double with 9 points and 10 rebounds.
Brooke Nails had 8 points and 5 assists.
Myah Coleman had a near double-double with 9 points and 10 rebounds.
The Crusaders will be back at home on November 4th against Texas College at 7 PM.
