HOT SPRINGS, AK- The Dallas Christian College women's basketball team (5-7, 2-0) defeated Champion Christian College 74-70 in a wire-to-wire match-up to open up conference play on the road at Champion Community Center.
The Lady Crusaders hung tough and took over the game down the stretch of the game and outlasted the Lady Tigers 74-70 in a huge conference victory on the road.
The Lady Crusaders shot 26-62 (41%) from the field, 9-25 (36%) from the three-point line, and 13-21 (61%) from the free-throw line. DCC had 14 second chance points, 34 points in the paint, 26 points off turnovers, and 19 bench points. DCC had 35 rebounds, 8 assists, 4 blocks and 12 steals.
T'Keitha Valentine dominated the game with her best performance of the season, scoring 34 points on 13-18 shooting from the field, and 7-9 from the three-point line. The Lady Crusaders now move to 2-0 in conference play and will look to extend its winning streak to three games against Arlington Baptist on Tuesday, January 14.
