HOT SPRINGS, AK-- The Dallas Christian College Men's Basketball Team (3-12, 1-1) suffered a 71-66 loss in overtime on Tuesday night in the road conference opener against Champion Christian College at the Champion Community Center.
The Crusaders stifled the Tigers early with hounding defense and started the game on a 13-1 run. Champion battled back to cut the deficit to one point at half. The Tigers continued to stick around as the game progressed and hit a layup with 1.6 seconds left to send the game to overtime. In OT the Tigers controlled the pace of play and defeated the Crusaders 71-66.
DCC shot 25-89 (28.1%) from the field, 8-38 (21%) from the three-point line, and 8-14 (57%) from the free-throw line. DCC scored 34 points in the paint, 23 second chance points, 14 fast-break points, 10 points off turnovers, and 22 bench points.
Nick Lancit scored 11 points on 4-10 shooting from the field, and 3-5 shooting from the three-point line.
Grayson Bell scored 10 points on 3-7 shooting from the field.
Ronald Ducros notched another double-digit rebound game with 12 rebounds. The Crusaders will look to bounce back on Tuesday, January 14 at Arlington Baptist in a cross-town rivalry game.
